Showers late this evening with .02" 2nd: A few showers overnight. Partly cloudy windy and warm today high of 80 F. SE winds gusting to 38 mph. Showers and thunderstorms late this afternoon and this evening 5:30 -10pm. with heavy downpours at times .98" total rain today. 3rd: Mostly cloudy and breezy today. A few sprinkles overnight and again this evening but only a trace. 5th: A light shower around 9:30am .01" Thundershower around 4pm with .11". 7th: Warm and humid high 82 F. Black stormy skies and strong winds around 1pm as severe thunderstorms passed just to the north with wind gusts to 36 mph. More showers and thundertorms between 5pm - 8pm but none severe. Total rain today .33". Much cooler this evening. 8th: Sunny cooler and breezy today. 9th: Suny and warmer again high of 85 F. WARM / HUMID / STORMS 14th: Partly cloudy warm and humid today high 84 F. Heavy thunderstorm 4:30pm - 6pm with rather intense lightning moderate rains and wind gusts to 32 mph. Rainfall total .36". Some powerline and tree damage reported in some areas of the County. 15th: A brief shower overnight .01". Warm and humid today. A few thundestorms in the area 3pm -5pm only .06" of rain. Intense storms this evening between 7:30pm - 9pm with frequent intense lightning and heavy downpours .75" in 20 minutes wind gusts to 27 mph. Heavy thunderstorms between 7pm -9pm with black ominous skies, mammatus clouds, wind gusts to 40 mph, heavy rains with 0.81" and intense lightning. Line of very severe thunderstorms were approaching from NW this evening but did the usual Washington County Split just as they were entering the area between 10pm - midnight Some thunder and lightning and only a few hundredths inch of rain. Total today .33" 22nd: Brief shower just after midnight .01". Sunny very warm and humid. 23rd: Sunny hot and humid today high 89 F. 24th: Very warm humid and windy today high 88 F. SW winds gusting to 31 mph. SEVERE STORMS / TORNADOES F-1 25th: Very warm and humid again today high 85 F. Very severe thunderstorms late this afternoon right around 6pm with funnel clouds and F-1 tornado touchdowns in the area. At this station funnel clouds were spotted. The storm produced wind gust to 43 mph here but winds much stronger in other areas with reports of 60+ mph and with numerous tree and power line damage reported, north end of town and points west and east seemed hard hit. Severe frequent lightning, and a lot pea sized hail fell. Total rain was .96" which virtually all of that fell within 10 minutes with .52" falling in the first 5 minutes and .42" the next. Confirmed F-1 Tornado just north of here in Leitersburg with moderate to heavy damage in some spots. 26th: More thunderstorms overnight 3:30am-5am with .19" of rain and wind gusts to 32 mph. Mostly cloudy and humid all day. Some thunder and .01" of rain this evening around 8pm. 28th: Few sprinkles overnight, trace. 29th: Bright and sunny beautiful day high 73 F. 31st: Cloudy with periods of light rain today. Thunderstorm this evening 7:30pm -8:30 with brief heavy rain gusty winds to 33 mph but very little lightning and thunder. May was the 2nd warmest on record with an average temp of 68.6 F. The record warmest was in 1991 with a 69.4 F average. May was the 8th wettest on record with 6.27" of rain. The all time wettest was just last year 2003 with 8.21" MAY 2004
