A few light showers during the evening between 8pm - midnight .04". THUNDERSTORM HEAVY DOWNPOURS 5th: Some light showers overnight and one thunderstorm. Thunderstorm between 3-4am with some heavy downpours .81". Partly cloudy today high 77 F. 6th: Sunny high 77 F. 7th: Sunny high 81 F. 8th: Partly to mostly cloudy today warm and humid high 82 F. Some light showers during the afternoon. Light showers this evening then a line of thunderstorms cross the area between 8pm - 9:30pm with some sharp lightning and heavy downpours. No strong winds with the storms at this location. Total rain today .77". A tornado warning was issued for one of the stronger storms in the southern part of the county but none reported in this county but an EF-1 Tornado touched down briefly in Martinsburg WV doing some damage to a few homes and trees. 9th: Partly cloudy warm and humid today high 81 F. Showers and thunderstorm this evening between 10:30- 11:30pm with heavy downpours with .93" of rain. No strongs winds with the storm. 10th: A light shower overnight .01". Fog overnight and this morning. Partly cloudy warm and humid today high 85 F. 11th: Heavy downpours overnight between 2:30am -3:30am .71" fell. Mostly cloudy warm and very humid today high 85 F. Cluster of thunderstorms moved in from the south across the area this evening bringing brief heavy downpours. The worst of these storms were to the east and west of this station. Total rain today 1.10". MAJOR CLEAR SPRING MD FLOODS 12th: Light shower just after midnight. Cloudy and humid today high 78 F. Showers during the afternoon. Torrential rains fell just west of Hagerstown in Clear Spring Md with major flooding in that town and numerous water rescues. A line of heavy rain and thunderstorms moving south to north very slowly and trained over the same area for hours with 4 - 6+ inches of rain reported. Many homes flooded out and families displaced. 13th: Partly cloudy warm and humid today high 84 F. A line of dying thunderstorms moved through early this evening but only produced some ominious dark skies a little rain of .05" and a little wind to 26 mph and a rapid drop in temperature. 14th: Mostly sunny breezy pleasnt day high of 72 F. 15th: Sunny high 82 F. HOT / HUMID / THUNDERSTORMS 16th: Sunny hot and rather humid today high 90 F. First 90 degree day of year. Rather intense thunderstorm this afternoon mainly between 5:30pm - 6pm with some a heavy downpours with .54" falling in about 20 minutes. Also a few minutes of hail ranging in size from pea to 1/2" in size. Hail up to 1" reported east of town. Also some sharp lightning and gusty winds up to 34 mph with the storm. 17th: Mostly sunny hot and humid today high 92 F. 18th: Partly cloudy hot and humid today high 91 F. Thunderstorms in the area late this evening with just a few sprinkles of rain at this location. Frequent lightning to ENE as storms intensified moving away. INTENSE THUNDERSTORM / FUNNEL CLOUD 19th: Light shower this morning around 6am with only .01" rain. Thunderstorm this afternoon at 2:30pm dropped very heavy rain with .72" falling in 10 minutes and .58" in five minutes. Wind gusts to only 24 mph. Reports of a funnel cloud within a few blocks just north of this station location. Some light rain and drizzle late this afternoon. Total rain today .75". 20th: Mostly sunny today high 80 F. Few sprinkles late this evening, trace. 21st: Few sprinkles overnight, trace. Cloudy and cool today with a few spinkles and some drizzle at times, trace. 22nd: Partly cloudy high 79 F. 23rd: Partly cloudy high 82 F. 24th: Light shower this morning around 10am .02". Partly cloudy very warm and humid today high 86 F. INTENSE THUNDERSTORMS / FLASH FLOODING / DANGEROUS FREQUENT LIGHTNING / FUNNEL CLOUD 25th: Partly cloudy hot and humid today high of 88 F. Intense thunderstorms mainly between 7pm -8pm. Thunderstorms moving into the area this evening intensifies rapidly overhead and bringing torrential downpours with flash flooding of roads, basements and creeks. Frequent lightning was sharp and very close with many cloud to ground strikes. Heavy rain fell in a short period of time with 1.61" falling at this station. The north part of town seemed to be the hardest hit with the flooding with reports of over 3 inches falling. Another rotating funnel cloud was reported and observed just a block east of this staton just before 7pm. No reported touch down or damage.
