WARM / RECORD HEAT 2nd: Sunny warm RECORD HIGH of 68 F. today. Beat the old record of 64 in 1916. 3rd: A few spits of rain overnight (trace). A cloudy day but still mild enough to TIE the RECORD HIGH of 65 in 1997. WINDY COLDER 4th: A very warm summer like overnight low of 61 F. High of 67 F. but not a record. A few sprinkles this morning and some light rain this afternoon. Windy from the south with gusts to 31 mph. Very windy and colder this evening with NW gusts to 36 mph. 5th: Windy overnight and today colder NW winds up to 31 mph. 7th: Strong WNW winds today with gusts to 35 mph. 9th: A few sprinkles overnight and this morning only a trace. STRONG WINDS 10th: Rain today between 9am - 3pm .61" fell. Windy this evening sw gusts to 28 mph. 11th: Showers this morning 9am -10am .08". Became very windy today with very strong WNW winds gusting to 48 mph this afternoon. Windy this evening. 12th: Strong west winds overnight to 39 mph. 13th: A very mild and sunny morning but high winds blew in at noon with gusts clocked at 53 mph from the NW. High winds continued all day with rapidly falling temps into the 20's 14th: Windy overnight and again today and very cold high only 30 F. NW winds up to 33 mph. Wind chills in the single digits to -15. 15th: A cold breezy day with SSE winds up to 21 mph. High only 34 F. STRONG WINDS WARM / COLD 16th: A roller coaster day with a high of 59 F. Became very windy with strong NW winds gusting to 39 mph and rapidly falling temps this afternoon and evening into the 20's. 17th: Windy and very cold overnight with a low of 13 F. North wind gusting to 32 mph wind chills down to -25 F. Windy and very cold all day with a high of 26 F. North winds gusting to 30 mph and wind chills near zero or lower. A SNOW NO SHOW 18th: A cloudy cold day. It looked, felt, and smelled of snow even the radar said it was snowing but I saw not one flake today. 19th: Snow showers 8am - noon no measuable amount. SNOW / COLD / WIND 20th: Snow began shortly before 3am with light to moderate snow all morning. Began to tapper off by noon with just some light snow through mid afternoon 3.7" fell. Winds picked up from the NW gusting to 35 mph with moderate blowing and drifting. A heavy snow squall this evening between 7pm -8pm with near white out conditions put down another 0.4" making 4.1" for the day. Strong winds, blowing and drifting and falling temps through the evening. 21st: Cold low of 9 F. this morning. More strong winds today high only 21 F. Winds chills below zero all day as low as -25 F. A LITTLE SNOW 22nd: Low of 7 F. this morning. Light snow this evening 7:30pm - midnight 0.4" fell. 23rd: A few periods of light snow after midnight with only 0.1" additional snow. A few flurries this morning. 24th: A mostly cloudy day but a little warmer with a high of 39 F. SNOW !! A FOOT OF FLURRIES 25th: A powerful snowstorm surprises area with over a foot of snow today. Snow began this morning at 6am like someone flipped a switch with heavy snow and near whiteout conditions as winds gusted to 25 mph. Snow moderate to heavy all day with snow coming down at a rate up to 2 inches per hour. By noon 7.8" of new snow was on the ground. Snow began to tapper off after 5pm but 13.5" had fallen by then. Some light snow and flurries throughout the evening. no additional accumulation. Rather windy with some blowing and drifting as winds gust to 25 mph. COLD SUN 27th: Sunny windy and very cold today high only 22 F. NW winds gusting to 31 mph making wind chills as low as -23 F. Also some drifting snow again today. 28th: Sunny cold and breezy. 29th: Cold low of 4 F. Sunny and a rapid warm up with a high of 38 F. SNOW 30th: Light snow began shortly before 6am by 9am 0.6" had fallen. A break in the storm 9am-11am but by 11:15 it was snowing moderately. Moderate to occasionally heavy snow all day. Snow ended around 9pm with a storm total of 7.9" of new snow. Total on ground is 16" 31st: A burst of snow this morning between 7am-8am produced 0.1" of snow. Windy today west winds gusting to 31 mph with some blowing and drifting of snow. January 2000 was the 4th snowiest on record with 26.1" The all time record is 42.9" in 1996. the 2nd snowiest was 1925 with 33.0" and the 3rd was in 1966 with 29.3".
