High temp only 33 F. 3rd: Another arctic front overnight as temperatures dropped rapidly from 40 at midnight into teens by this morning. Winds gusting to 27 mph overnight. Afternoon high only 28 F. Wind chills were near zero all day. 4th: Very cold overnight low of 11 F. Increase in clouds and cold high only 28 F. SNOW !!!!!!!! 5th: A rather sizable snow event today. Snow began early this morning just after 1am. Snow was steady all night and all day today. It was moderate most of the time and briefly heavy at times. Snow mostly ended by 5pm. A few light flurries this evening. Total from the storm 8.2". Water content was .86" 6th: Snow flurries this morning 7-10am then clearing and sunny with a high of 34 F. * RECORD LOW TEMPERATURES 7th:*RECORD LOW of 1 F. this morning breaking the old record for this date of 9 in 1910. Bright sunny day high of 36 F. 8th:*TIED RECORD LOW of 13 F. in 1937. Another cold morning here on the valley floor with a low of 13 which tied the record for this date. Temperature shot up to 44 by late morning. Became windy with WNW winds gusting to 27 mph this afternoon and evening. 9th: Another cold morning low of 12 F. Sunny and cold today high only 30 F. 10th: Another cold cloudy day low of 14 F. high 33 F. ICE STORM / FREEZING RAIN 11th: Freezing rain began just after 4am. Freezing rain fell all day and was moderate to heavy at times. Moderate to heavy ice accumulation on everything 0.3" of ice on ground. Many tree branches down and some whole trees. Also wires down and power outages. Temperature was well below freezing during the morning but remained near 32 F the rest of the day and evening. Freezing drizzle this evening. 1.42" water content. COLD RAIN / SNOW 13th: Rain during the afternoon was moderate at times. Sleet and snow mixed in then changed to all snow for a while but no accumulation. Mainly drizzle during the evning. Total precipitation .57" today and a trace of snow and sleet. 14th: Few showers overnight with some wet snow mixed in at times also dense fog overnight. More rain showers this morning between 7-11am .05" today. Windy and chilly NW winds up to 28mph. 15th: Windy with WNW winds gusting to 29mph. WHITE CHRISTMAS / SNOWING ON CHRISTMAS EVE !!!! 24th: Cloudy all day light snow began late this afternoon. Snow continuing this evening and moderate at times tapered off by midnight 1.4" fell also some sleet was mixed in at times. The last time a significant snow fell on Christmas eve with snow falling was 1966 when 3.5" fell on top of 1.5 " making a total of 5" In 1998 a dusting of snow fell in early AM hours of Christmas eve with only 0.2" SNOWING ON CHRISTMAS DAY TOO !! EVEN MORE RARE !!!! 25th: Merry CHRISTmas !!! Some snow and sleet fell midnight -2am. Snow began again just before 7am. Snow continued all morning moderate to heavy at times snow ended by 2:30 pm. Total snow today 3.9" Storm total 5.3" The snow was heavy and wet sticking to and covering everything making one beautiful scene for Christmas. Strong NW winds late this afternoon and evening with many gusts 30+ and a peak gust of 43 mph. Snowing with accumulating snow on both Christmas eve and Christmas day is even more rare. This is only the second time that snow fell on both days. The only other time that significant snow fell on both days was in 1962 when 1 inch fell on Christmas eve then another 3 inches fell on Christmas day making a total of 5 inches on the ground there was also some snow already on the ground before that storm. 26th: Windy overnight with NW winds gusting to 35 mph. 28th: Breezy and chilly SW winds to 25 mph. 30th: Mostly cloudy and mild today a few light showers this evening (trace). 31st: Warmer high of 54 F.
