Heavy Storm just to NNE near Waynesboro PA Area between 8 - 11pm. 4th: Sunny & hot high 94 F. 5th: Evening rain showers between 5pm - midnight .15" fell. 6th: Rain overnight midnight - 6am .28" fell. Hazy hot and humid today high 90 F. Heat index 99. 7th: Hazy hot and very humid today high 93 F. Heat index peaked at 104. Few sprinkles this evening. EXCESSIVE HEAT & HUMIDITY 98 F. Heat index peaking at 110 & dew points in the mid 70's, very oppressive. INTENSE THUNDERSTORMS HEAVY RAINS 9th: Hazy hot and humid today high 89 F. Intense thunderstorm between 11:30am - 12:30pm with ominous black skies strong winds to 42 mph, intense frequent lightning and heavy downpours .69" fell. Another similar intense storm 6:15pm - 7:30pm with winds to 40 mph and instense lightning and heavy rains. A few more evening showers. Total rain for the day 1.81". Some wind damage reported from the storms. 16th: Thunderstorm this morning between 8am - 9:30am with very dark skies & brief heavy rains .60" fell. MUCH HOTTER / VERY HUMID 24th: Became hot hazy and very humid today high 90 F. Dew points in mid 70's, heat index peaked at 103. * RECORD HIGH TIED /EXTREME HUMIDITY /INTENSE STORMS 25th: Sunny Hot and extremely humid high of *96 F. that tied the record for this date in 1943. Heat index today peaked at an incredible 112 and dew points were in the mid to upper 70's. Thunderstorms formed and moved from sw to ne between 5pm - 6pm and just missed this station as they moved by to east with heavy rains strong winds and frequent lightning. Only a trace of rain fell here wind gust to 30 mph. Large hail heavy rains and wind damage reported east & south of town. 26th: More intense storms overnight mainly between midnight - 1am with heavy rains and frequent lightning.
